Summary:  View help for Summary The Department of Housing and Urban Development funds and provides oversight for the survey. The U.S. Census Bureau collects the data. For more than forty years the American Housing Survey has provided researchers, policy makers, academics, and others in the housing and urban planning professions with the most comprehensive up-to-date information on the size and composition of U.S. housing stock.
