Project Description
Brief description of collection and processing of data: Crystal microstructure was determined using a polarised light microscope (PLM-Olympus BX 41, Tokyo, Japan) fitted with a digital camera (Infinity 2, Lumenera Scientific, Ottawa, Canada). In the most part, OTS data was collected using a DAQ card and was processed using VB2010 software utilising NI Measurement studio. Higher-resolution OTS data, e.g. for bubble oscillation examples, were collected using a digital oscilloscope. High-speed imaging video data was collected using a Photron APX RS camera and analysed using PFV Fastcam viewer 4 software.
Definition of acronyms, codes, and abbreviations: OTS refers to the optical transmission sensor device developed within this work. ΔOTS refers to the change in the OTS signal compared to baseline value. The signal output from the OTS device is given as a voltage, Vopto, recorded as a function of time, t.
Description or definition any other unique information that would help others use your data: The data was collected as described in the manuscript. Data is comma delimited as appropriate.
Descriptions of parameters/variables: a. Temporal (beginning and end dates of data collection): Included in the data files where appropriate b. Instruments used and units of measurements: The OTS data is given by a voltage in Volts (V). c. Column headings of data files (for tabular data): Included in each file set as appropriate. d. Location/GIS Coverage (if applicable to data): N/A e. Symbol used for missing data:N/A
