Project Description

Project Title:  View help for Project Title 2014 Health Center Patient Survey (HCPS)
Summary:  View help for Summary The Health Center Patient Survey (HCPS) provides valuable data about patients’ experience with the care and services they receive at health centers funded under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. The HCPS also helps identify opportunities to improve access to primary and preventive health care services delivered, and responsiveness to patients’ needs. This data is critical to understanding how the pandemic has impacted the country’s most medically underserved populations, and how to better prepare for future public health emergencies.

The HCPS offers a snapshot of the following about health center patients through self-report:
  • Sociodemographic characteristics;
  • Health conditions;
  • Health behaviors;
  • Access to and utilization of health care services;
  • Satisfaction with health care services.
Data is collected from one-on-one interviews with patients who are served by a subset of up to 300 HRSA-funded health centers that are nationally representative of the Health Center Program patient population. New questions have been added to the 2014 HCPS that address COVID-19, among other topics.

2014 is the first year for which HCPS data is available to the public.
