Project Description

Project Title:  View help for Project Title Interactions of 2021 Schneider Springs burned area, containment lines, PODs, and suppression success
Summary:  View help for Summary In August of 2021 the Schnieder Springs fire ignited on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington, where it burned through 113,689 acres of rugged terrain with a number of factors affecting fire behavior and eventual containment. For areas where the fire burned, observational data were developed using a rasterization approach at a 30-meter resolution consistent with LANDFIRE spatial products, where each pixel center was converted to a point location and populated with fire behavior drivers and mediators. This data publication includes the following data: weather, fuels, topography, the construction of containment lines, the presence of previously identified potential containment locations, and the number of ground-based firefighters assigned to the incident on a day-by-day basis.
