Project Description

Project Title:  View help for Project Title Farm Household Income and Characteristics
Summary:  View help for Summary
This data product presents the latest household income forecast and estimates for principal operators of U.S. family farms. On February 5, 2026, forecasts for 2025 were revised and forecasts for 2026 were added. Tables documenting financial indicators for farm households were updated to provide estimates for 2024. For a discussion of the current conditions and trends in farm household income, see the Farm Household Well-being topic, which includes a glossary of terms used in the tables.

Tables also cover data pertaining to beginning, limited-resource, and female farmers. For a discussion of the current conditions and trends concerning these groups, see the Beginning, Limited Resource, and Female Farmers and Ranchers topic. 

Tables also include data on health insurance coverage and expenditures of farm operator households. For a discussion of this topic, see the chapter on Health Insurance Coverage in the Farm Household Well-being topic.
