Project Description
"NCHHSTP AtlasPlus is an interactive tool that gives users the ability to create customized tables, maps, and charts using nearly 20 years of CDC's surveillance data on HIV, viral hepatitis, STD, and TB. AtlasPlus also provides access to indicators on social determinants of health (SDOH) allowing users to view social and economic data in conjunction with surveillance data for each disease."
Files generated from the CDC's AtlasPlus app. This comprises 3,144 files with data on STIs, HIV, tuberculosis, and other indicators. Data on social determinates of health are also included. Data are broken down by geography, year, and demographic information (demographic information not applicable to SDOH data). Files are sorted into folders by indicator and are labeled sequentially in the order they were downloaded. A directory spreadsheet is included and provides information on what a given file contains, its location, and the time it was downloaded. Unless a file has a year in its name (ex. "AtlasPlusTableData_run_year.xlsx"), the file contains all available years for that indicator.
Not every combination has an available file. In these cases the file location column will specify why the file does not exist. For example, some county-level data cannot be disaggregated by both age group and race.
A folder labeled "Supplementary Information" includes the script used to download files, the metadata generated by that script (initial file location, time at download), an additional script to clean metadata, and a manually saved copy of the "About AtlasPlus" page.
