The PTSD Repository includes 550 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of treatments for PTSD conducted from 1/1/1988 through 4/1/2024. What we learn from RCTs helps us to determine which treatments are best. We also learn which treatments need more research to establish if they are helping people recover from PTSD.

PTSD can impact anyone. So, who are the participants in these clinical trials? Understanding who participates in research tells us how "generalizable" the results are. That is, we want to understand to what extent the findings from given studies (or samples) apply to the rest of the population or to ourselves if we are considering treatment.
