Description from https://datahub.transportation.gov/Roadways-and-Bridges/Weekly-Traffic-Volume/yeig-3uz6/about_data:
This dataset contains the estimates of the vehicle miles traveled (VMT) for interstate highways and how the total travel measured by VMT compares with travel that occurred in the same week of the previous year.
Description from: https://datahub.transportation.gov/stories/s/3g63-ik4u
The Traffic Volume report estimates the vehicle miles traveled (VMT) for interstate highways and how the total travel measured by VMT compares with travel that occurred in the same week of the previous year. The VMT is further split into passenger vehicle and truck components. The information gives new insights into the effect on traffic by storm activity, economic fluctuations, and other variables that could not be evaluated using the monthly report.
The FHWA Office of Highway Policy Information has developed and released weekly Interstate travel information in various forms since April 2020 at both https://datahub.transportation.gov/stories/s/3g63-ik4u and https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/policyinformation/weeklyreports/. Until the week of April 4, 2022, Interstate travel was reported and released weekly through partnerships with State transportation agencies. From April 4, 2022, until now, the Interstate travel data was reported with weekly time intervals on a monthly basis (covering each of the four weeks in the month).
The 2023 weekly travel data update covering the weeks from 13 to 17 (3/27/23 -4/30/23) is the last edition of this stand-alone Interstate travel report with weekly time interval coverage. For future data and information, please visit the Monthly Traffic Volume Trends Report (TVT) at https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/policyinformation/travel_monitoring/tvt.cfm.
Other relevant FHWA monthly data reports include the Monthly Motor Fuel Data report at https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/policyinformation/motorfuelhwy_trustfund.cfm and the Monthly National Highway System Traffic Speed Trends report at https://data.transportation.gov/stories/s/dvd3-tb69.
Description from: https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/policyinformation/weeklyreports/
FHWA Office of Highway Policy Information has developed new weekly analytical reports that provide snapshots of near real-time information on traffic volume and gasoline product supplied.
Weekly Traffic Volume Report - estimates the vehicle miles traveled (VMT) for interstate highways and how the total travel measured by VMT compares with travel that occurred in the same week of the year 2019.
