Text from website:
Each museum and Federal agency that has possession or control of a holding or collection that may contain human remains or associated funerary objects must complete an inventory of human remains or associated funerary objects.
This table is an abstract of the information submitted by museums and Federal agencies showing the number of individuals and associated funerary objects that have been reported in inventories and are still pending consultation and/or public notice prior to repatriation.
This table can be filtered to show all human remains or human remains based on a determination of cultural affiliation. This table can be filtered to show only a specific museum or Federal agency or a specific geographic origin of the human remains. The search function applies to all available fields in the table. The buttons provide different formats for downloading the data. The table can be sorted by any field by clicking on the header.
[NOTE: This project contains three available sets of data (the entire dataset plus two subsets) in each of three available filetypes, plus screencaps of the main page and the page linked in the above description.]
