Project Description
I received these data via email from Brian Hannon of the BLS. His email included the following:
"[U]nofficial archived county data for 1976–89 that are not considered to be comparable to the more recent data. The attached Word document (‘Historical Comparability.docx,’ which is somewhat dated) discusses some of the various sources of non-comparability with respect to the official county series. The attached ‘all_archived_counties7689aa (UNOFFICIAL).xlsx’ file contains the archived county annual average data, as last published, from 1976 through 1989. These data are no longer official, and they are not strictly comparable to the current series available from 1990 forward. Archived annual averages are probably less problematic for comparisons to the current series than monthly data."
