H-1B Labor Condition Application Program Data, 2001-2007
Summary:
View help for Summary
The H-1B program allows employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in the U.S. on a nonimmigrant basis in specialty occupations or as fashion models of distinguished merit and ability. A specialty occupation requires the theoretical and practical application of a body of specialized knowledge and a bachelor's degree or the equivalent in the specific specialty (e.g. sciences, medicine, health care, education, biotechnology, and business specialties, etc.).
A Labor Condition Application (LCA) is used by employers as supporting evidence for the petition for an H-1B visa. Only first issuance H-1B visas are subject to the legislated numeric limitation. DOL disclosure data does not indicate the employer's intended use for the LCA.

This archive includes data from the LCA E-File online system or via the automated fax system. Data is available for both systems as separate files. By 2004 90 percent of H-1B applications were e-filed.
